Our programmes

The Business School enrolled its first students in 1971, with approximately 1,500 students on its wide range of programmes today. These include our six specialist Undergraduate degrees (one taught solely in Singapore), The Loughborough MBA (AMBA-accredited), five Masters courses in various management disciplines and our ESRC-recognised Postgraduate Research Programmes.

In addition, about 1,000 managers, directors and executives of leading firms across the UK attend our management development courses each year run by the Professional and Management Development Centre.

The Professional and Management Development Centre offers a diverse range of programmes that encompass core management disciplines (including a programme for company directors), as well as specialisms such as healthcare, security risk management and automotive dealership management.

All of our programmes benefit from Loughborough’s close links with industry and the professions – indeed the Henry Ford College, with which the Business School has close links, is located on the University campus.

The Research Groups are: Accounting, Finance and Banking; Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour; International Business and Strategy; Management Science and Information Systems; Marketing and Retailing.

Loughborough respects diversity, as is evidenced by both staff and students who display considerable diversity themselves in terms of nationality, gender, teaching philosophies and research interests. This promotes a lively and collegial environment with unwavering commitment to good research and teaching, as evidenced by both the University’s and the Business School’s rankings in the major League Tables each year.

What sets us apart

What differentiates Loughborough from other top business schools? There are key factors in each of our programmes. For example, the Undergraduate Placement Year plays an important role in the learning process and ensures that our graduates are extremely employable. Our MBA programme is highly flexible, allowing participants to combine a variety of different study modes to fit in with a busy work schedule. Our taught Masters programmes provide an excellent fast-track entry into business for graduates whose initial specialism was in other subject areas. And the Doctoral programmes provide a wide-ranging taught component on research methods in addition to supervision on the chosen research topic.
