Dr Atzeni’s research interests focus on the sociology of work and labour relations. He has conducted research on labour conflict, mobilisation theory, labour process, work organisation in self-managed factories and trade unionism in Argentina.
He is especially interested in exploring the manifold forms of labour, its centrality in the understanding of social reality and its linkages with social mobilisation and social change (comparative labour North - labour South approach). His geographical area of expertise is on Argentina, Latin America, India and Italy.
Dr Atzeni is also interested in the ethnographic, historical and sociological accounts of workers’ organisation, labour struggles and working class formation.
He welcomes PhD applicants interested in one of the above areas of expertise, and more generally in the field of industrial relations, to apply.
He is the Co-editor of the Labouragain Publications Series: http://www.iisg.nl/labouragain/publications.php
