Puritat completed his Master's degree at Loughborough University in September 2009. Having thoroughly enjoyed his time at Loughborough University he wishes to share his experiences with others:

“After achieving a degree in Electrical Engineering from Kasetsart University, I worked at a leading telecommunications company as an engineer. During my work period I was happy with my progress, however I realised that technical knowledge alone would not be enough for my success. Therefore, I decided to study further in the business field in order to improve my management ideas and skills to be an effective consultant, and this is my dream goal.

“I had three criteria  for choosing a university for my postgraduate studies. Firstly, it  needed to be high ranking with an excellent reputation. Secondly, the course content needed to offer the appropriate modules to support my aim of becoming a top consultant. And lastly, I was looking for an environment that is appropriate for studying, particularly away from a large city. I  found that Loughborough University satisfies all the criteria I set. Moreover, I knew that I would feel secure and happy when spending my time in Loughborough since the University has won the Best Student Experience award for three consecutive years. And more than that, Loughborough University also provides the course of MSc Business Analysis and Management which enables the students to get in-depth business ideas and to be a management consultant. Therefore, I did not hesitate to choose this university.

“I attended the 10-week pre-sessional course before beginning the Master’s programme. From the moment I arrived at Heathrow airport I was made to feel very welcome at Loughborough and the staff were very helpful. The social programmes and activities organised by the English Language Support Service gave me many opportunities to make friends. So the pre-sessional course not only improved my language skills but also helped me settle into life at Loughborough. The Master’s course from Loughborough University provided effective knowledge in every area of management skills. Although my first degree was not business- or management-related, I  was able to learn effectively with support from the provided materials and the support from my friends and the professors. Furthermore, I gained practical knowledge through the assignments and gained experience in group work and time management as well. Besides, I also had a part-time job in a Thai restaurant in the town centre called ‘Thai Grand’ where I met many Thai people so that I could feel like I am at home. Those experiences taught me a lot in both academic and real life; and I have really appreciated my life here.

"In addition to academic life in Loughborough, the Students’ Union also provides clubs for a variety of students’ interests. I joined PhotoSoc, a photography club for Loughborough University students. As I was a member of a society, I could do as many activities as I like with the people who have common interests as mine; and I really enjoyed that.

"Now that I have finished the Master’s degree here I am hoping to find a full-time job in the UK. Since Loughborough University is a high-ranked and reputable academic university, I hope I will find a good job matching my background and Master’s degree here.

"I would definitely recommend Thai students to study at Loughborough University since it is a highly-rated academic institution and offers the best resources and study environment. Also, it is ranked as one of the top universities in the UK and has been awarded ‘Best Student Experience’ for several years. In addition to the academic life, you can find anything you need in the peaceful town and enjoy your time here. So, I have no doubt to recommend to students who are seeking the best academic experience and happy life while studying to come to Loughborough."
