Shahid is from Kohat in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) of Pakistan. After completing his Pre-Engineering course at PAF College Kohat, he gained admission to the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at NWFP University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar. Shahid graduated with a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and won a gold medal for achieving the highest grade in the department. He tells of the process of choosing the right academic institution for his research:

“I had heard about Loughborough university from one of my friends. So after getting a scholarship for postgraduate studies I started researching Loughborough University on the internet. And I was truly amazed with the standard of education and existence of different facilities all within the campus. Once I became completely satisfied with Loughborough university as my first choice there was no way I would consider somewhere else.”

“When I came to Loughborough university I didn’t experience any problems as everyone was very kind in helping me with arrangements. In the beginning I found Loughborough a small and boring town but once I made friends and adjusted to the town life I began to like it very much. And now I don’t wish to go anywhere else. The location of university is ideal for any person who really wants a high quality education and social life in a truly international university. Its central location and great transport links also makes it an ideal place to visit any part of the UK. I found my course better than my expectations. The Engineering faculty is one of the best in the UK. The people over here are very kind and ready to help and solve your problems.”

“I would definitely recommend Loughborough University to international students. There are many reasons for this. First of all Loughborough is a very beautiful and quiet place which is ideal for study. Secondly, its campus is one of the biggest in the UK. You will find all departments within one big campus which is truly amazing. Thirdly, the quality of education and standard of sports facilities are second to none in the world. And its engineering faculty being the best in the UK make it an ideal place for engineering students. And last but not the least you will meet people from all over the world with different cultures and languages which is truly unforgettable experience.”
