Employability award

The Loughborough Employability Award recognises the development of valuable employability skills through participation in the many extra-curricular activities across campus and through vacation work and volunteering.

The Library's Get the Know-How courses and the Academic Practice module feature as part of the Loughborough Employability Award.

Get the Know How workshops

Attendance at two or more Library workshops from the Get the Know-How programme can earn you points towards your Employability Award. Workshops are free and you can book a place via the Get the Know-How module on Learn. To verify attendance at workshops we rely on the register of attendees taken on the day so it is vitally important that you sign in.

Academic Practice

Academic Practice is an online interactive module designed in bite size chunks that you can work through at your own pace and at a time that suits you.   It is broken into ten units covering a range of information handling and academic skills topics. You can earn points towards your Employability Award by completing this module – either by completing 5 units one of which must be Unit 3 on Plagiarism or by completing all ten units. For your activity to be endorsed towards the Award you should fully engage with the material. This involves not only viewing the material but also engaging with the interactive content such as the quizzes and taking the opportunity to reflect on your skills where appropriate. You can self-enrol on the module. Simply log into Learn and go to the Academic Practice module.

How to have your activity endorsed

When you wish to claim the points towards your Award please send the completed record of activity form to S.F.McKeating@lboro.ac.uk or R.Laing@lboro.ac.uk If claiming points for attendance at a workshop please ensure that you specify which date you attended since we run a number of repeat sessions.
