Unforgettable times
Loughborough Students’ Union is all about giving you opportunities that you will literally never forget.
It could be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and raising money for Rag, scoring a goal for your Hockey club, learning to belly dance on a Wednesday afternoon or dressing up in fancy dress for the Friday night out with friends from your hall. The possibilities are endless and Loughborough is all about enabling you to do more.
With over 60 societies, 55 sports clubs, a state of the art media department with it’s own TV station, radio station recording studio and student magazine, and an incredible night club venue you really are spoilt for choice at Loughborough Students’ Union.
You get to know people while you are involved in these amazing experiences and the people you meet will become as unforgettable as the times you have with them.
Skills for the future
Employers want so much more than a good degree from a great university and Loughborough can give you the all round platform of experience from which to build your career. The Students’ Union has over 1,000 students every year who take on real responsibilities.
As a student you could be leading the Rag team that collected over £50,000 for charity in one day and totalling £1.4M in just one year. You could be part of the Media team who organised live coverage of the Loughborough v the Barbarians match, or even take part as one of the 2,000 students that volunteer in the community every year.
Leading a club, organising a project or representing your fellow students for your school/department helps you stack up real life skills that employers crave.
Loughborough students are high achievers and the Union is a place where you get the chance to learn and then take on responsibilities to really show what you can do.
A Voice where it counts
Loughborough Students’ Union and the 15 person executive have an important voice in the University and the local community. They are consulted when it matters and the same applies to you.
When it counts the Union is there to support students in getting their point across whether it be academic issues or comments on any aspect of Loughborough life, the Union is there to ensure that Loughborough remains the very best place to be a student.

The Students’ Union building also provides catering outlets, shops, a hairdresser, an optician, a Malaysian restaurant, sports massage and physiotherapy, a dentist, bookshop, taxi rank and a pharmacy.

Loughborough students are proud to own a fantastic building which is buzzing with students both in the day and at night. The central Piazza is a lively meeting place and coffee bar during the day with a shop, a Chinese restaurant, a hairdressers, an optician, a dentist, a taxi rank, a pharmacy, sports massage and chiropody.
At night the building opens up to be come one of the Midland's biggest and best nightclubs. With a total capacity of almost 4,000, there are 5 rooms, each with their own atmosphere.
There are three big nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and specialist events throughout the week often featuring student performance societies like hip hop or the Union’s own swing band “Tuxedo Swing”.
