Recreational sport

'My Lifestyle' is a programme offering plenty of opportunities to have fun participating in sport or physical activity. It offers an extensive choice, many free of charge, and includes a comprehensive programme of fitness classes designed to fit with your lifestyle. It’s a great way to try something different, meet new people and keep active.

We’ve invested in new 'Park' facilities dedicated to recreational sport where you can turn up and play at almost any time.

There are two great gyms on campus: LUFS - a friendly gym in the heart of the student village with a health suite, and Powerbase – a specialised, state-of-the-art, strength and conditioning gym.

Inter Hall sport

We operate the largest free inter-hall sport programme of its kind in the UK. Throughout the year students can represent their Hall of residence in over 26 sports – in leagues and one-day events. Sports such as Football, Archery, Rock-it-Ball and Tug-of-War are included.

Despite many hall rivalries being established over the decades, Hall sport is a great way to get involved with Loughborough student life.

Volunteering and coaching opportunities

Volunteers are central to the success of Loughborough Sport and our Volunteer Academy will help you identify suitable opportunities.

There are over 1,800 student sport volunteers at Loughborough filling a wide range of important roles. So whether your interests lie in managing events, coaching, leadership, working with young people, marketing or sports development, the Volunteer Academy can help you gather experience, develop skills and gain qualifications.

To enhance your employability there are opportunities for volunteering or work experience with a wide range of national sports partners. There are also over 1,000 full time jobs in sport in and around the campus for you to aim for!
